Helen Zhibing Huang’s operatic credits include performances with the Washington National Opera, Kentucky Opera, Washington Concert Opera, Opera Theatre Saint Louis, The Glimmerglass Festival, Nashville Opera, Portland Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and White Snake Projects. For the 2023-2024 season, Ms. Huang makes her highly anticipated debut with Hawaii Opera Theatre as Setsuko Kobayashi in An American Dream by Jack Perla. She also returns to the Alabama Symphony as a soloist in Faure’s Requiem and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. She has earned recognition from competitions such as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Jensen Foundation Competition, Orpheus Vocal Competition, and McCammon Voice Competition. Ms. Huang holds degrees from the New England Conservatory, Bard Vocal Arts Program, the Eastman School of Music, and the University of Rochester (B.A. Economics). She is a founder of Wear Yellow Proudly, an initiative that aims to bring awareness to Asian culture and strengthen the ties within the global community through music, poetry, and culture. Helen is a winner of the 2021 Astral Artists National Competition.
