Ekaterina Skliar debuted with the Russian Folk Instrument Orchestra of the Buryatia Republic at age 11, and went on to perform with numerous mandolin, guitar, and folk instrument orchestras in her native Russia. Her vast repertoire includes transcriptions of classical music, original works for domra and mandolin, and contemporary and jazz music. A prizewinner of many international and all-Russian competitions, she was also awarded a Silver Medal Global Music Award for her solo domra recording. She has appeared in solo recital and with chamber ensembles, symphonies, and Russian folk instrument orchestras throughout the U.S. and Russia, including the conductorless, collective Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, and gypsy folk string ensemble “Lendvay & Friends.” She studied at Russia’s Novosibirsk Specialized Music School and the M. Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory. Ekaterina is a winner of the 2019 Astral Artists National Competition.
