The concert explores the colorful worlds created by great contemporary composers, and features the culmination of Aaron Jay Kernis’ residency with Astral – a world premiere written for Astral artists by the Pulitzer Prize winner. Also featured are works by Holst, Dohnányi, and Lou Harrison, and violinist Benjamin Beilman makes his first appearance on Astral’s series since winning the prestigious 2010 Montréal Competition.
