About Jasmine Choi
Associate Principal Flute of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Jasmine Choi joined the Astral Artists roster as a winner of its 2004 National Auditions. Astral featured her on a “Rising Stars” concert at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, presented her with other Astral artists at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, and features her in recital this season. Ms. Choi has been a featured soloist with orchestras worldwide, including The Philadelphia Orchestra, Salzburg Mozarteum, Vienna Mozart Orchestra, KBS (Korean Broadcast System) Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Haddonfield Symphony (now Symphony in C), and St. Petersburg and North Czech philharmonic orchestras, among numerous others. She has also performed in London’s Wigmore Hall, the Musikverein Golden Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, both Dvorák and Smetana halls in Prague, and Los Angeles’s Disney Hall. Among her competition honors are first prizes in The Juilliard School’s 2005 Concerto Competition, the 2004 Yamaha Young Artist Competition, and The Philadelphia Orchestra’s 2002 Albert M. Greenfield Concerto Competition. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Choi has participated at the Marlboro Music Festival and was a member of the Astral Winds and Trio Morisot (with Astral graduate artists, violist Teng Li and harpist Bridget Kibbey). She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. Her recording of the Mozart Flute Concertos, with the Mozart Collegium Vienna, was released in 2006 for Sony BMG Korea.
