Bridget Kibbey
harp

A 2004 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and a winner of Concert Artist Guild’s 2007 International Competition, Bridget Kibbey joined the Astral Artists roster as a winner of its 2003 National Auditions. Astral presented her Philadelphia recital debut, and presents her this season in a program of chamber masterworks and as soloist with Symphony in C at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. TimeOut New York named her self-released album of solo works for harp, Love Is Come Again, one of 2007’s Top Ten Recordings, calling it “a strong contender for the year’s most distinguished debut CD.” She has also recorded Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs and “Ayre” by Osvaldo Golijov with soprano Dawn Upshaw for Deutsche Grammophon. Ms. Kibbey has appeared as featured soloist with The Juilliard Symphony, the Israel Youth Philharmonic, the Eastern Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, among others. As an orchestral harpist she has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. A new member of Chamber Music Society Two of Lincoln Center, she also performs with Trio Morisot (flute, harp, and viola, with Astral’s Jasmine Choi and Teng Li). Bridget Kibbey serves on the harp faculties of New York University, The Juilliard School Pre-College program, and Vassar College. She holds both a Master and a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School.
